MYSTERY SHOPPER LETTER CLAIMS TO BE FROM CONSUMER CONTACT

Bogus letter offers quick and easy money.

It has recently come to our attention that a third party has been mailing fraudulent letters, which make unauthorized and illegal use of our name, to members of the public. The hoax letters include a bank cheque and offer the recipient a paid position with the company as a mystery shopper. The fraudulent letter is designed to fool the recipient into cashing the cheque and sending the proceeds to an undisclosed location. The letter contains a fake corporate logo which is not the Consumer Contact logo. The correct logo can be seen on our website.

Consumer Contact is warning people that these hoax letters are not from Consumer Contact and should be ignored. Consumer Contact is an online and telephone data collection company and does not conduct mystery shopping. Should you receive a mystery shopping mailing containing our name that requests cheque cashing or money transfers, it is not legitimate.

            -   Do not cash the cheque

            -   Do not forward the funds to the specified location

Consumer Contact is working with local and Federal authorities to uncover this scam. Please report receipt of communications related to the scam to your local authorities, including the police.
